Summary: The state of New Jersey requires compulsory school attendance of children between the ages 6 and 16.  New Jersey does not mandate the number of days per year, or hours per day of homeschool instruction. They also do not mandate a specific curriculum, but simply suggest that homeschooled students receive “instruction equivalent to that provided in the public schools for children of similar grades … or receive equivalent instruction elsewhere than at school.” There is no standardized test requirement in the state of New Jersey.
