Option One is called the "Home School Statute Option" and does not have any legal requirements or qualifications. Option Two is called the "Nonpublic School Option" and involves having a certified teacher oversee all homeschool work (except in the case of a religious exemption), and furnishing the school superintendent all required information about the school at the beginning of each school year, including (from HSLDA) the name and age of each child enrolled at the school,the number or name of the school district and the city or township and county where the parent lives,the name and address of the parent, and the name and age of any child enrolled in the school who is not in regular attendance.
